Roy's Jacksonville Beach
Roy's Jacksonville BeachThey say there's nothing new under the sun. Well, apparently “they” have never been to Roy's in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. This very fine dining establishment will knock your culinary socks off with its Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine. In short, it's the best of both worlds: Asian spices mixed with European spices that meet head on with fish only found swimming around the Hawaiian Islands. To give your palate a bit of a heads-up, here are several seafood dishes from the menu at the Jacksonville Beach Roy's. The Seared Tiger Shrimp comes complete with farro, edamame, pepper, soy braised pearl onion and ginger, and miso cream. Roy's Roasted Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi is lovingly prepared in Maine lobster essence. The Pecan Crusted U-10 Sea Scallops feature coconut sweet potato puree, and bourbon maple pork belly. And the Seared Hawaiian Ono boasts pad Thai noodles, cashews, tempura avocado, and coconut miso sauces.
What about food for the non-seafood lovers? We thought you'd never ask. Roy's in Jacksonville is also very meat-friendly. Indulge in the Braised Pork Shank arrives with Savoy cabbage, shitake mushrooms, baby carrots, mac & cheese, and pork jus. Check out the Porcini Dusted Hangar Steak featuring creamed collards, crispy onion rings, and Asian A-1. Or go the poultry route and dig into the Peking Style” Chicken with sweet potato, scallion, broccolini, kohlrabi, and star anise hoisin sauce. You can also go green with a yummy salad, including the Citrus Salad highlighted by shaved radish, fennel, red oak leaf, and charred shallot vinaigrette and “The Wedge” Salad with tomatoes, maple bacon, egg, crispy fried onion, and Maytag Bleu cheese dressing. Appetizers run the gourmet gamut from Crispy Calamari to Duck Confit Dim Sum to Roy's Original Hawaiian Blackened Island Ahi. As for dessert, you can't go wrong with either the Warm Mango Streusel or Roy's Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé.
